This week we have added to the primary colors and now have red, yellow, blue, green, orange, and purple. We will be mixing colors. The books Mouse Paint and Little Blue Little Yellow will be used to introduce this topic.
Our letter this week is Aa and we will use Annie Alligator as our sound. Now we have Silly Snake and Annie Alligator. Help your child listen for these sounds in words. We teach letter sound rather than letter names.
Thursday we will be doing lots of things with apples! We will taste them, spread peanut butter on them, sing songs and read books about them.
Our students are learning to follow directions, share with friends, take turns, cut with scissors, paint, glue, draw and trace.
We are having lots of fun "playing" as we learn.
Next month we will be learning about families! We would like each child to bring a picture (photo or drawing) of their family.
On Thursday, September 9th we will be having a Teddy Bear's Picnic. Have your child bring their favorite teddy bear (or other stuffed animal) and a snack to share.

First Week
Our First day was so much fun. We had such a blast getting to know one another. Our books for this week are "Silly Sally" by: Audrey Wood, "The Rainbow Fish" by:Marcus Pfister, and "The Kissing Hand" by:Audrey Penn.
We made Silly Sally puppets and would love for you to play with them with your child. The Puppets are Silly Sally walking backwards upside down, a pig who danced a jig, a dog who played leap frog, a loon who sang a tune, a sheep who fell asleep and Neddy Buttercup walking forwards right side up.
We also read "The Rainbow Fish" and talked about sharing and being a kind friend.
We encourage you to get these books and read them to your children.
Reading at least 15 minutes a day will help your child tremendously.
